Magnetic Separators

FLOW-THROUGH MAGNETIC SEPARATORS CLEAN
STEEL AND IRON CHIPS FROM COOLANT OR OIL

  • Permanent Rare Earth magnet --- No external power required, no moving parts, no replaceable parts

  • Three sizes for coolant or oil flow rates to 39 gallons per minute at low pressure drop

  • Built-in internal bypass permits full fluid flow even when magnet is loaded with chips

  • Magnet easily cleaned in a minute with cleaning tool provided--No dirty cartridges for disposal

Where To Use Magnetic Separators

The Keller magnetic separators are ideal for operations such as mold grinding which produce a large quantity of iron or steel chips. Install a magnetic separator:

1) Downstream from the coolant pump in the coolant recirculation line. The internal bypass in the separator ensures full flow even when the magnet is fully loaded.

2) In a Keller Pump/Filter Unit PFA-1002 as a prefilter to reduce the solids load on the bag filter.

Click here for information on the PFA-1002

3) To remove chips from a sump continuously in an external pumping circuit.
Contact Keller for recommendations.

How They Work

Contaminated fluid flows past the outside of the cylindrical magnet, which attracts even submicron particles of iron or steel. The cleaned fluid exits through slots in the bottom of the cylinder, then to the outlet port through an internal flow passage in the magnet cylinder.

To clean, remove the magnet from the housing. Scrape the collected chips into a disposal drum using the tool provided. Cleaning time: about 1 minute
